On 31 December and 1 January, public transport will be free, with additional departures on several routes
On New Year's Eve, 31 December, and New Year's Day, 1 January, Rīgas satiksme public transport will be free of charge. For the convenience of the festive event visitors, additional departures will be provided on several public transport routes on New Year's Eve. Parking will also be free in parking lots managed by Rīgas satiksme, except for the underground parking lot at K. Valdemāra iela 5A.
Public transport
On 31 December and 1 January, public transport will run according to the holiday timetable. On these days, passengers will be able to travel free of charge on buses, trams and trolleybuses, and tickets, including QR code tickets, will not need to be registered on holidays.
To make it easier for passengers to get to and from the New Year event venues, additional departures will be organised on the night of 31 December to 1 January until around 02:00:
tram routes 1, 5 and 7;
trolleybuses 4, 9, 15, 17 and 18;
bus routes 3, 9, combined bus route 12, 23, 26 (via Akmens tilts), 24, 25, 37, 51 and 53.
Parking lots
Parking lots managed by Rīgas satiksme on the sides of streets can be used free of charge on 31 December and 1 January, except for the underground parking lot on K. Valdemāra iela 5A – there parking will be charged according to the current tariffs.
Customer service centres
On 30 December, the opening hours of the customer service centre of Rīgas satiksme at Brīvības iela 49/53 will be from 8:00 to 15:00, while the other customer service centres will be open as usual on Fridays until 18:00.
All customer service centres will be closed on 31 December and 1 January.
